Founded in 1967, the Society seeks to preserve and promote the great heritage and 1500 year history of the settlement at Llaniltud Fawr (St Illtud’s great church) and the surrounding area.
Membership is open to all for a modest annual fee.

Supported then as now by a small group of Llantwit Major historians, the Society organises an annual series of lectures, day/evening trips for its large membership, publishes articles and guides to the town’s history and maintains the Societies extensive archive at the “ Old School”. |
